Introduction

The Ngao Foundation Alumni (NFA) is envisioned as a vibrant and supportive community of former beneficiaries of The Ngao Foundation’s programs. As a dedicated department under the larger Ngao Foundation, the NFA will aim to foster lasting connections among alumni, support ongoing personal and professional development, and contribute to the foundation’s mission of community uplifting and empowerment.

Objectives

Eligibility

Individuals who have been direct beneficiaries of the Ngao Foundation’s programs, including education scholarships, mentorship programs, or other initiatives

Governance Structure

Leadership

  • President: Elected by the Ngao Foundation beneficiaries, the
    President must be a beneficiary of the foundation. The President
    serves a three-year term and can be re-elected for one additional
    term.
  • Board of Directors: Comprises the Deputy President, Treasurer,
    Secretary, and Project Director, all elected by the Ngao Foundation
    beneficiaries. The board can adopt other positions as necessary for
    the effective running of the alumni group.

Board Roles

  • President: Provides leadership and strategic direction; represents the
    alumni group in foundation meetings and external engagements.
  • Deputy President: Assists the President and steps in during the
    President’s absence.
  • Treasurer: Manages the group’s finances, including fundraising
    activities and budgeting.
  • Secretary: Handles all administrative tasks, including meeting
    minutes, correspondence, and record-keeping.
  • Project Director: Oversees the planning and execution of alumni
    projects and initiatives.




Constitution

Article I: Name and Affiliation

  • Name: The Ngao Foundation Alumni (NFA).
  • Affiliation: The NFA is a department under The Ngao Foundation and
    is not autonomous.

Article II: Purpose

  • To support the mission of The Ngao Foundation.
  • To connect alumni and provide support and opportunities.
  • To engage in community service and development projects


Article III: Membership

  • Eligibility: Defined as above.
  • Rights and Responsibilities: Members have the right to vote, stand for
    election, and participate in all alumni activities. They are responsible
    for upholding the values and objectives of the NFA.

Article IV: Governance

  • President: Elected for three years; can serve two terms.
  • Board of Directors: Elected positions with specific roles as outlined
    above. Additional roles can be adopted by the board.

Article V: Elections

  • Held every three years for all board positions.
  • Candidates must be beneficiaries of the Ngao Foundation.
  • Elections will be conducted in a fair and transparent manner, as
    outlined by the election committee.


Article VI: Meetings

  • Regular meetings: Held quarterly.
  • Special meetings: Can be called by the President or any board
    member as needed.
  • Quorum: A minimum of half the board members must be present for
    decisions to be valid.


Article VII: Finances

  • The NFA will conduct fundraising activities.
  • The Ngao Foundation will support the alumni group financially and
    through other resources.
  • All financial transactions must be transparent and documented


Article VIII: Amendments

  • The constitution can be amended by a two-thirds majority vote of the
    members present at a meeting.
  • Proposals for amendments must be submitted in writing to the
    Secretary at least one month prior to the meeting.

Activities and Projects

Networking Events: Regular meetups and online forums for alumni to connect and share opportunities.

  • Workshops and Seminars: Professional development and
    mentorship sessions on various topics.
  • Community Service: Projects that allow alumni to give back to their
    communities.
  • Fundraising Events: Activities to raise funds for both alumni and
    foundation projects.
  • Mentorship Programs: Experienced alumni mentor new graduates
    or current beneficiaries.

Support from The Ngao Foundation

  • Financial Support: Funding for specific alumni projects and
    initiatives.
  • Resources: Access to foundation resources such as meeting spaces,
    administrative support, and publicity.
  • Guidance: Strategic advice and support from the foundation’s
    leadership.

The Ngao Foundation Alumni aims to create a supportive network that not only benefits its members but also contributes positively to the broader
mission of The Ngao Foundation. By fostering strong connections and providing continuous support, the NFA will help alumni thrive and make meaningful contributions to their communities.
