Women Beadwork, Sewing and Tailoring Project

Girl power initiative
This initiative aims to facilitate girls from the most unfortunate families to a life changing opportunity. Most importantly, “Girl-Go-Back to School” initiative. We have supported girls to complete primary, secondary school and college/vocational training.
“When a girl is protected and empowered, her family and community thrive. When a girl’s family and community thrive, the world is changed”.
In the poorest slums of Nairobi, a girl is at risk of dropping out of school early, sexual violence, forced child marriage, early pregnancy, complications during childbirth, and contracting HIV/AIDS. If she survives, she will raise her children in poverty and they, too, will face the same obstacles. Girls have the potential to move themselves and their families into a healthier and more secure life. Ngao Foundation firmly believes that investing in the empowerment of girls means supporting the most powerful force for change on the planet.
What we do!
Mentorship, leadership and life skills training for the girls to know themselves, what they want to do in
their lives and for the society and how to get there. They reflect on their values, skills and abilities.
Girl-Go-Back to School initiative; We call upon friends and well-wishers to donate and sponsor a girl to
complete school. This could be primary level, secondary, college or vocational training.
Career Skills Development and connections for job opportunities and support to start-up small businesses.
