In the quiet corners of Thion\u2019go along ACK Road, lives a young girl whose story speaks volumes of courage, resilience and quiet determination. Maureen Akinyi at just 15 years old carries a burden far heavier than many her age yet she holds onto hope with unwavering strength.<\/span><\/p>

Abandoned by both her parents at a tender age, Maureen found a home and a mother-figure in her aunt. Since she was only a year-old Mercy has been her sole guardian a woman of modest means, working casual jobs to ensure Maureen\u2019s basic needs are met. Her biological mother moved on and started a new family, while her father remains absent and unknown. Despite this, Maureen has never allowed her painful past to cloud her vision of the future.<\/span><\/p>

Currently in Form Two at Loreto Kiambu Girls\u2019 High School, Maureen\u2019s academic journey is one marked by resilience. Having scored an impressive 370 marks in her KCPE from New Kihumbuini Primary School, she earned her place at one of the respected girls\u2019 schools in the region. At the end of Term One this year she proudly achieved a B- a reflection of both her potential and her unwavering commitment to her education.<\/span><\/p>

Yet today, her dreams stand on the edge of uncertainty as her guardian despite her best efforts cannot afford paying the school fees. The future of Maureen\u2019s education hangs in the balance.<\/span><\/p>

But Maureen\u2019s story is more than just hardship it\u2019s a beacon of hope and promise. She dreams not only of completing her education but of one day reaching back to help other children like her.<\/span><\/p>

What she needs now is a helping hand someone who sees her potential, who believes in the power of education and who is willing to invest in a brighter future. Sponsoring Maureen means more than just clearing a fee balance it means keeping a dream alive. It means offering a young girl the chance to rise above her circumstances and become a light for others.<\/span><\/p>

Meet Beatrice, once a shy young girl from Shamakhokho, Vihiga County, unsure of her future after high school. In 2021, she initially join the Ngao Foundation for its mentorship program. Beatrice describes her younger self as naive and lacking confidence. Through the mentorship program and Anthony’s personal encouragement, Beatrice found the guidance and confidence she needed to believe in herself that she could make it through university. With a partial scholarship from the Ngao Foundation, she pursued a Diploma in Business Management at PC Kinyanjui Technical Training Institute, graduating in February 2025.<\/span><\/p>

Today, Beatrice has come full circle, now serving as Office Administrator at Ngao Foundation while also pursuing her CPA course. Her journey proves that with mentorship, opportunity, and determination, dreams do come true. Beatrice wants to reassure anyone considering sponsoring a student through Ngao that it will help more than you could believe–not only financially with the school fees, but by helping provide confidence and encouragement that someone believes in them.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
